Myanmar-S.Korea business forum to be held in Yangon
A Myanmar-South Korea business forum will be launched at the Traders Hotel in Myanmar's Yangon on Tuesday aimed at promoting bilateral trade and investment between the two countries, according to the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Monday.
Organized by the Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce Industry ( UMFCCI) and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Korcham), the business forum will be attended by entrepreneurs from Myanmar and S. Korean companies.
The business forum deals with investment climate and investment opportunity in Myanmar and bilateral cooperation in information technology and construction.
A business consulting session between Myanmar and S. Korean companies will also be attached.
Statistics show that S. Korea injected a total of 2.93 billion U.S. dollars as of June this year since 1988, standing the fourth in Myanmar's foreign investors line-up.
The East Asian country's trade with Myanmar hit 453.44 million dollars in 2010-11 which ended in March, up sharply by 51.3 percent from 2009-10 when it was 299.64 million dollars.
